Constitution


  1. Before the end of the academic year, a new committee will be chosen. All posts must be filled and they must be appointed in the following way:
    1. Any member may nominate themselves for a position
    2. No member may hold more than one position within the club
    3. A secret ballot must take place.
    4. The candidate with the most votes fills the post.
    5. In the event of a tie, all tied candidates must make a speech and a revote will take place.

  2. If anyone has a complaint against a member they must bring it up with the committee. A member will only be excluded from the club if they have had at least two complaints made against them by different club members and then only if the committee votes unanimously to exclude the member. An appeal must be taken to the sports and leisure executive.


  3. If anyone has a complaint against a committee member, they must bring this up with all the other committee members privately. If the said committee member is not doing their job properly, they may be stripped of their position if there are at least two complaints made by different club members and a unanimous decision is made, following a meeting, by the rest of the committee. In the event of this occurrence, a new member will be appointed to the position in accordance with point 9. An appeal must be taken to the sports and leisure executive.


  4. If a member is unhappy with the running of the club or with a member of the club and they feel that they are not being dealt with fairly, they should first approach the committee and if they are still not happy they should approach the sports and leisure executive.


  5. The two named committee members appearing on the Guild mandate, if in agreement with one another, retain the right to jointly veto any decision which will take the club into a negative fiscal position and compromise the future of the club.


  6. All club activities must adhere to the rules and constitution of the University Wales, Aberystwyth and the Guild of Students.


  7. A copy of this constitution will be available to all those who request it as well as being available on the website.
